Electrical energy provides humankind with freedom in many ways.  This freedom results into a form of reduced work, convenience, entertainment, and other areas, that are too many to mention.  Specifically, electricity is present in many activities, such as turning on the lights, preparing meals, cooling or heating the home, utilizing a tv, computer or other electric device, among others. Electricity has made human lives better, comfortable, and easy through emancipation from mundane tasks, and providing new ways to accomplish many things including being a lifelong learner.  Perhaps even learning to love to learn.

Energy Saving tips to increase the wanted cash.

1. Shut off every electrical fixture that are not in use.  This would include lights, television, electric fans, heaters, cooling equipment, computers, printers and other appliances utilizing electricity. 

2.  When heating a home with electricity

a.  Use programmable thermostats.
b.  Run the heat above 60 degrees only when people are at home.
c.  Purchase a thermostat and outlet switches that operate using an application software.

e.  Run the heater during off-peak hours.

h.  Install hot water (or glycol) floor heater.

3.  Ask the service utility in the area for an off-peak rate.

a.  Utilities especially Electric Cooperatives (owned by consumers) offer off-peak rates.
b.  Utilizing electricity at night will increase the demand, thereby shaving off the peak load during the day, which will redound into reduced cost of electricity.

4.  Cooling the home or business area

a.  Run the cooling system only when people are in the area.  
b.  Use programmable thermostats.
c.  Run the cooling system at 75 degrees Fahrenheit only when the area is in use, or set to 80 degrees Fahrenheit or put off when the area is not in use.
d.  Purchase a thermostat that operates using an application software.
e.  Make sure the cooling registers correctly and air filters are clean.
f.  Operate-run the cooling system during off-peak hours.
g.  Open the registers at the highest level in the place.
h.  Set the cooling system at the highest point in the place, cool air moves to the lowest point.

5.  Utilize highly efficient appliances that utilize low amount of electric energy.

6.  Insulate the dwelling place.

a.  Install insulation in the attic or under the roof membrane.
b.  Install insulation in the walls.
c.  Utilize e-glass windows and high efficiency doors.

7.  Produce renewable electric energy.

a.  Install solar panels at home.
b.  Install wind turbines.

8.  Support low-cost energy sources and promote new sources of clean energy.

a.  Hydro dams are an excellent source of low-cost energy.
b.  Nuclear energy is safely produced and utilized by many countries, it use in other countries should be considered and if practical pursued.
